Our school piano has had a makeover from all the children in the school, with the help of local artist Kerry Cook. Every child contributed and added a piece of work to the collage. Well done to everyone who took part!
Year 6 visited SafetyWorks! to take part in a series of interactive safety scenarios to help them learn how to live safely and prevent danger.
They were taught how to cross the road safely and how to identify fire dangers in the bedroom. They also experienced escaping from a fire and making the 999 call. The children saw a hospital ward and practised the recovery position. At the West Fifteen Metro Station, they found out how to travel safely and the dangers of the overhead cables. In the police station they found out what happens when someone is arrested and considered the possible impact of personal choices.
It was a very enjoyable visit with invaluable learning.

Class 2 had a fun day playing pirates.
Class 2 have been writing their own finding stories.

We had a great day visiting animals, trying biscuits, putting criminals on trial and re-enacting a battle.
The children in Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed their Viking visitor. He brought with him his belongings, clothing and weapons. The children had lots of fun trying on the clothes and one person even got to experience a Viking burial! They even found out how to use a spear! Everyone learnt lots of new facts and had lots of fun. What a great day!

We have been looking at the value of numbers and using lots of resources to help us.
We have been working hard on our addition and subtraction skills.
As part of their science topic, the children in class 4 investigated the colour of light using prisms and found that what we see as white light is actually made up of all the colours of the rainbow. The children then completed a colour wheel, using these colours, to see if they could make white light. Once they had practised the technique, they were happy to see that their experiment worked and had great fun at the same time.
The children all got into the Christmas spirit at the end of the Autumn term by having a Rock Band visit the school. At first, the children sat very smartly listening carefully to the string of famous songs but it wasn’t very long before children and staff alike were dancing away! The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children and staff. Thank you to Chris Little and his band for giving us such a lovely start to the holidays!
